Today marks the first day of CampNaNoWriMo, during which I’ll be attempting to write 50,000 words of a novel. As usual, I’ve shelved the idea I was planning to work on, and am winging it with some characters who won’t shut up about this weird castle they’ve moved to.
Also as usual, I seem to have a lot of other commitments stacked up for my novelling month: a 2,000 word essay on the Mediterranean, relatives visiting, the Tiny Tyrant’s birthday, and a project to catalogue and re-home my extensive book collection. No pressure!
This year I’m sharing a cabin with fellow iggles, and I shall no doubt take part in the fantastic NaNoSprints on twitter, which I’m hoping will be enough accountability and encouragement to see me through. I’ll also be posting updates on here, if only to have a valid reason to procrastinate :).
1693 words down, and 30 days to go.
Good luck, Wrimos!
