Our Correspondent in the North

What is it that they say about major life changes? Never do more than one at a time…

Oh well; after quitting my job back in September, I have now moved to the historic Scottish town of Dunfermline, making me the northern-most member of my extended family (and therefore the coldest).

The Technician, whose new job prompted the move, has graciously offered me a sabbatical year in which to get my health back on track and focus on the writing I’ve been wanting to do.

Since I can’t help myself I will also use the time to study (what else?!) a Colour Pencil drawing course with the London College of Art, while taking advantage of the local library – which was the world’s first Carnegie library.

Exciting times ahead!
